Lobby Wrap: Automotive industry wants training as EV sales increase

As fuel prices across the country increase more Canadians are looking to electric vehicles as their next automotive purchase.

New Transport Canada data shows that about 130,000 consumers across the country took advantage of the $5000 federal incentive to purchase an electric vehicle since the program began in May 2019.  (link)

The Automotive Industries Association of Canada ,which according to its website brings together the entire automotive aftermarket supply and service chainwants more training and access to data as the auto sector transitions to servicing electric vehicles. It’s also looking at privacy legislation as it pertains to consumer control over vehicle data.
